About the show

In this production, inspired by the polyphonic music of the great Johann Sebastian Bach, choreographer Radu Poklitaru reflects on the paradox inherent in the notion of female friendship and on the nature of envy. This ballet fresco, this multi-voiced choreographic tapestry - at times detached, at times tinged with a sorrowful smile-mirrors the inner architectonics of Bach’s musical thought and the coexistence of individuals within a timeless human tribe.

The costume designer Dmytro Kuryata succeeded in solving the choreographer's task set before him - he managed to reproduce the atmosphere of the age of Bach. According to the plot, the production features seventeen principal heroines, with the female roles performed by male dancers.
