Kyiv Modern Ballet presents the ballet-journey “A Minute Before Christmas” to music by Saint-Saëns and “Shchedryk”
On December 21–23, 2023 and January 2–6, 2024, “Kyiv Modern Ballet” will show the premiere of the ballet “A Minute Before Christmas” to music by C. Saint-Saëns and “Carol of the Bells” (“Shchedryk”). The performances will be held at the Kyiv Cultural Cluster “Krakow”.
The ballet’s production team: librettist – Oksana Taranenko, choreographer – Serhii Kon, video content author – Olga Nikitina, project director – Radu Poklitaru, Honored Art Worker of Ukraine. Serhii KON tells us about the special features of the ballet: «in the production, the style of the choreography and plasticity is aimed at combining elements of classical dance with a variety of dance techniques, and with my own personal sense of the music, expressed in my own plastic response to it. The wonderful, easily perceived music of Camille Saint-Saëns, combined with Carol of the Bells, serves as a source of inspiration for creating a Christmas spectacle. The unobtrusive plot of the production, with its journeys through fantastical worlds – wondrous birds, bikers on motorcycles, fairy-tale animals – should not leave even a small and discerning spectator without attention and interest».
