Ivan Harkusha (John Hope)

John Hope (Ivan Garkusha) is a Ukrainian composer specializing in electronic instrumental music.

He has composed music for various Ukrainian dance productions, including:

- "Traces" choreographed by Tetyana Znamierevska (created within the "Speak with Your Body" project, part of the international theater festival "Golden Lion – 2023").

- "I Am, Where I Am" written and directed by Tetyana Tizenberg, with choreography by K. Shyshkariova, I. Plotnikova, and D. Sarman (a project supported by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, 2021).

- "DYNAMIC" (a physical performance "Totem Dance") directed by Yaroslav Kainar (2021).

- "Mariupol" by Vladyslav Detiuchenko (premiered in Washington, USA, 2022).

- "The Wall" by Vlad Detiuchenko (a dance film about the fall of the Berlin Wall, supported by the German Embassy in Ukraine, 2020).

- "My Orpheus" (music pieces: "Venom," "Kukla," "Monologue," "Dynamic") directed by Vladyslav Detiuchenko for "n'Era Dance Company" (2020).

- "F.O.M.O" by Dana Sarman (created during the Totem dance residency, 2023), among others.

John Hope is also the composer of tracks like "Follow the Lights" (a soundtrack for a short film), "Why Don’t I Miss You" (from the EP "HOME" by John Hope), "18:00" (from the EP "HOME" by John Hope), and "I’m Home" (from the EP "HOME" by John Hope).

Since 2024, he has collaborated with the Kyiv Modern-Ballet theater:

- Composer of the ballet in two acts "Alice Through the Looking Glass", directed by Kateryna Kurman.
