Opening of the new 2024–25 theatre season

The new season will open with a landmark production for the theatre — the two-part ballet «Carmen.TV» to the music of Georges Bizet. 

The event will be presented on 28 August on the stage of the ICAC.

What the production is about:
The classic story of the gypsy Carmen, the famous heroine of Prosper Mérimée’s novella, has received a contemporary and unexpected reading in this ballet thanks to Radu Poklitaru’s innovative choreography. The production is filled with intonations that preserve the spirit and charm of 19th-century Spain and have not lost their relevance for more than 18 years, without departing from the brilliant music of G. Bizet’s opera.
